Lekha Dodi — Welcoming the bride
Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
“Observe” and “Remember” in a single utterance: the One God caused us to hear them. The LORD is One and His Name is One, for renown, glory and praise. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Come, let us go to greet the Sabbath, for she is the source of blessing. From the beginning, from ancient times, she was appointed: last in deed, first in thought. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Royal sanctuary, city of kingship, arise and leave the ruins! Long enough have you dwelt in the valley of tears; He will have compassion upon you. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Shake off the dust, arise! Put on your glorious garments, My people. Through the son of Jesse of Bethlehem, draw near to my soul and redeem it. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Awaken, awaken, for your light has come; arise and shine! Awaken, awaken, sing a song; the glory of the LORD has been revealed upon you. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Do not be ashamed or humiliated. Why are you downcast, why do you moan? The afflicted of My people will take refuge in you, and the city shall be rebuilt upon its hill. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Your plunderers shall become a spoil, and all who devour you shall be far away. Your God shall rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over a bride. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
You shall spread out to the right and to the left, and you shall revere the LORD. Through the descendant of Perez, we shall rejoice and be glad. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Come in peace, crown of her husband, with joy, song and gladness, among the faithful of the treasured people. Come, my beloved, to greet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath.
Come, bride! Come, bride! Come, bride, Sabbath Queen!
Psalm 92
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD,
And to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High;
To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning,
And Thy faithfulness in the night seasons,
With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery;
With a solemn sound upon the harp.
For Thou, LORD, hast made me glad through Thy work;
I will exult in the works of Thy hands.
How great are Thy works, O LORD!
Thy thoughts are very deep.
A brutish man knoweth not,
Neither doth a fool understand this.
When the wicked spring up as the grass,
And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish;
It is that they may be destroyed for ever.
But Thou, O LORD, art on high for evermore.
For, lo, Thine enemies, O LORD,
For, lo, Thine enemies shall perish:
All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
But my horn hast Thou exalted like the horn of the wild-ox;
I am anointed with rich oil.
Mine eye also hath gazed on them that lie in wait for me,
Mine ears have heard my desire of the evil-doers that rise up against me.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree;
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the LORD,
They shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;
They shall be full of sap and richness;
To declare that the LORD is upright,
My Rock, in whom there is no unrighteousness.
Psalm 93
The LORD reigneth; He is clothed in majesty;
The LORD is clothed, He hath girded Himself with strength;
Yea, the world is established, that it cannot be moved.
Thy throne is established of old;
Thou art from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD, The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their roaring.
Above the voices of many waters,
The mighty breakers of the sea,
The LORD on high is mighty.
Thy testimonies are very sure,
Holiness becometh Thy house,
O LORD, for evermore.
