Prayer text
Shema Yisrael, YHWH Adonai Eloheinu, YHWH Adonai Echad. (Then in a low voice) Barukh shem kevod malkhuto le’olam va’ed. — Hineni.
YHWH, Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, the Ever-Living One, the Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, my Lord and my God, here I am, my God. I am not hiding from You. Sit with me in my silence, teach me to be present before You, and help me in all the affairs of my life, my great King.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High rests in the shadow of YHWH, the Almighty. I say to YHWH, Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, the Ever-Living One, the Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad: “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For He delivers you from the hunter’s snare and from the dangerous plague. He covers you with His feathers, and under His wings you take refuge. His truth is a shield and a buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor an arrow that flies by day, nor a plague that walks in the darkness, nor destruction that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side and tens of thousands at your right hand; it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For you have said: “You, O YHWH, O Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, O HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, You are my refuge.” You have made the Most High your dwelling. No evil will meet you, and no affliction will approach your tent. For He commands His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.
Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the wicked; he will be like a tree planted beside streams of water, which gives its fruit in its season. (Speak to God from the heart with utmost frankness.) (Sit in meditation and stillness for five minutes.)
