Personal Prayer 1

O YHWH, Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O my God, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, O HaShem, O Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, YHWH, I am here. I want to be truthful before You. Show me what I ought to put right in myself and in my life, and give me the strength, energy, intelligence, and will to put it right. Help me throughout my life and in all my affairs, O great Ehyeh.

YHWH, O Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O HaShem, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, have mercy on me, O God, YHWH, according to Your mercy. Wash me of my wrongdoing and purify my heart. I acknowledge where I have gone wrong, and I do not want to hide from the truth in Your presence. You, in Your majesty, desire truthfulness within and without, so teach me wisdom in my innermost depths. Purify me so that I become clean, and wash my heart of what has clung to it. Let me hear joy again. Create in me a pure heart, O my Lord, O YHWH, O Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O HaShem, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, and renew an upright spirit within me. Do not send me away from Your presence, and restore to me the joy of being near You. Open my lips, so that my mouth speaks Your praise. You do not want an empty outward show of religion from me, but a heart that is pure, truthful, and humbled in its pride. Today I did what I could. What I could not put right, help me to put right, O my Lord, YHWH. I do not flee from You, my Lord, because of my mistakes; instead, because of them I return to You, O my Lord, YHWH.

From the depths I cried out to You, my Lord, O YHWH, Adonai, O HaShem, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, hear my voice. Let Your ears attend to the sound of my supplications. If You keep watch over iniquities, O YHWH, Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, O HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, O Lord, who can stand? For with You there is forgiveness, so that You may be held in awe. I waited for You, O YHWH, Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, O HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad; my soul waited, and in His word I hoped. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for morning. Let Israel hope in YHWH, Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, for with Him—with YHWH, Adonai, HaShem, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad—with Him there is mercy, and with Him there is abundant redemption. He will redeem Israel from all its iniquities.

Have mercy on me, O YHWH, O Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O HaShem, O my Lord, O YHWH, O Adonai, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad. Have mercy on me according to Your mercy, and according to the abundance of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly of my iniquity, and purify me of my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You alone I have sinned, and I have done evil before Your eyes, so that You are justified in Your words and blameless in Your judgment. Behold, I was formed in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You delight in truth within, and in the innermost heart You make wisdom known to me. Purify me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear gladness and joy, so that the bones You have crushed may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O YHWH, Adonai, Eloheinu, Elohim, O Ever-Living One, O Self-Subsisting One, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, O HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, and renew an upright spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

YHWH, the Lord, is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me to waters of rest. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. (Then meditate while imagining a light washing over me; then remain silent, meditative, and receptive for two minutes.)
