Shema Yisrael, YHWH Adonai Eloheinu, YHWH Adonai Echad. (Then in a low voice) Barukh shem kevod malkhuto le’olam va’ed. Hear, O Israel: YHWH Adonai Eloheinu Elohim, the Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, ‘the Lord our God’; YHWH Adonai Eloheinu Elohim, the Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, the Lord is ‘one’.
Ve’ahavta et YHWH Adonai Elohekha, bekhol levavkha, uvekhol nafshekha, uvekhol me’odekha.
And love YHWH Adonai Eloheinu Elohim, the Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Let these words be upon your heart. Speak of them in your life, in your home, and along your way, when you lie down and when you rise. Keep them present in the works of your hands, in your thoughts, and in your home. Preserve me, O God, YHWH, for in You I have placed my trust. I said to YHWH, to Adonai Eloheinu Elohim, the Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, to HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad: ‘YHWH, You are my Lord; I have no good apart from You.’ As for the holy ones who are in the land, and the noble ones, all my delight is in them. The sorrows of those who hasten after another will multiply. But I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood, nor take their names upon my lips. YHWH Adonai Eloheinu Elohim, the Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, is my allotted portion and my cup. You hold my lot. The measuring lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, a good inheritance has become mine. I bless YHWH Adonai Eloheinu Elohim, the Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, who has counseled me. I have set YHWH Adonai Eloheinu Elohim, the Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting One, Possessor of Majesty and Honor, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, HaShem, Shaddai, El Chai, Echad, before me always; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices. My body, too, dwells in security. For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor allow Your holy one to see decay.
It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing to Your name, O Most High, Almighty YHWH; to tell of Your mercy in the morning and of Your faithfulness every night. (Meditate for five minutes: think about what I will leave behind, what I will begin, the good I will do, what I ask of YHWH, and what I will do to achieve it; then remain silent and receptive.)
