The Ritual of Fourfold Adoration
1- The signs:
• The Sign of the Enterer: Stand upright, your hand before you pointing forward. The left foot is one step forward, helping you direct your energy forward and establish connections.
• The Sign of Silence, or of the Exit: It has the effect of drawing back the energy cast into it. Stand upright and place a finger of your left hand on your lips (the Sign of Silence). Gently and firmly bring your left foot back.
2- The rituals and their times:
• Ra — at dawn: Face east and perform the Sign of the Enterer. Say: “Hail to You, Ra, in Your rising. You are Ra in Your might, traveling above the heavens in Your barque at sunrise. Tahuti stands in splendor at the prow, and Ra-Hoor has taken his place at the helm. Greetings to You from the dwellings of night, Ra.” Then give the Sign of Silence.
• Hathor — at noon: Face south, give the Sign of the Enterer, and say: Hail to You, Hathor, in Your triumph. You are Hathor in Your beauty, crossing the heavens in Your barque at the midpoint of the sun’s course. Tahuti stands in splendor at the prow, and Ra-Hoor has taken his place at the helm. Hail to You from the dwellings of morning! Then give the Sign of Silence.
• Tum — at sunset: Face west, give the Sign of the Enterer, and say: Hail to You, Tum, in Your setting. You are Tum in Your joy, crossing the heavens in Your barque at the sun’s descent. Tahuti stands in splendor at the prow, and Ra-Hoor has taken his place at the helm. Greetings to You from the houses of day. Then give the Sign of Silence.
• Khephra — at midnight (or at bedtime): Face north, give the Sign of the Enterer, and say: Hail to You, Khephra, in Your hiding place. You are Khephra in Your silence, crossing the heavens in Your barque at the midnight hour of the sun. Tahuti stands in splendor at the prow, and Ra-Hoor has taken his place at the helm. Hail to You from the dwellings of the end of day! Then give the Sign of Silence.
