1. Invocation and banishing of Venus on Friday
• Netzach, the Sephirah of this grade, is also the Sephirah that governs the planet Venus.
• The invocation must be performed on Friday only, before practicing the Middle Pillar Exercise. The banishing must also be performed on the same day, after the Philosophus meditation.
• Your hexagram in this ritual will be emerald green, as will the symbol of Venus.
• To invoke Venus, face the planet’s direction and draw the green hexagram while repeating:
ARARITA
• On the final syllable, thrust into the center of the hexagram, imagining it bursting into green flame, charged with the name of God. Then draw the symbol of Venus in the center of the hexagram in green light while repeating:
YHVH TZABAOTH
• Repeat the names alternately three times, calling the planet by the names of God. Feel the luxurious and lovable energy of Venus entering your circle and filling you. Say:
“Innocent virgin, nurturing handmaiden, who bestows the graces of love, who moves within the veils before sunrise: let a ray of Your victory descend upon me to awaken within this circle the powers of Venus.”
• Pause, face east, and contemplate the beautiful qualities of Venus for a few moments before continuing.
• When banishing Venus, draw the banishing hexagram and the symbol of Venus toward the planet, repeating the divine names appropriately, without reciting the prayer.
