Golden Dawn — Circular Breathing and Invocation of the Powers of Air

Circular Breathing — the Heart Chakra

Breathe slowly, with continuous inhalation and exhalation, for 5 minutes. Imagine your body and all your pores inhaling and exhaling air and light to and from your etheric body.

Invocation of the Four Powers of Air

1- Stand in the center of your circle and turn clockwise to face south. Trace the invoking pentagram of Air with your right index finger in bright yellow light while vibrating the following divine name: SHADDAI EL CHAI

Visualize the pentagram and see it burst into a brilliant yellow flame, charged and sealed with the name of God who rules the Sephirah corresponding to the element of Air. At the center of the pentagram, trace the sigil of Aquarius in luminous violet while vibrating: YHVH

Give the grade sign of Theoricus: stand upright with your feet together and raise your arms to your sides, palms upward and elbows only slightly bent, as though supporting a horizontal pillar on your head. Holding this salute to the powers of Air, say:

You are the glory of the azure sky and the ray upon the cloud.

2- Then turn clockwise to the west. Once again trace the invoking pentagram of Air and the sigil of Aquarius, vibrating the divine names as before. Give the grade sign and say: You are the spirit of abundant life and silent faith, riding on the wings of the wind.

3- Then turn clockwise to the east, tracing the sigil signs, vibrating the names, and giving

the grade sign as before, and say: You have come forth as a whirlwind, giving speed to the pursuit of life.

4- Now move to the north and perform the same actions, but say: You whisper to us in the darkness, and Your touch is like the echo of an abyss. Amen.

5- Stand in the center of your circle and give the sign of Theoricus toward the east. (Stand upright with your feet together and raise your arms to your sides, palms upward and elbows only slightly bent, as though supporting a horizontal pillar on your head.)

6- Imagine the white Tree of Life forming there at the eastern edge of your circle. Its light fills the circle. Holding this salute to the rising light, vibrate the following name of God and say the following prayer:

Shaddai El Chai, Shaddai El Khai — Yod He Vau He — Yahovah. The Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting. The Almighty and Eternal. Living forever. Your name lives forever. Glorified forever in the life of all. Amen.

Feel the heat of the yellow pentagrams and violet sigils as you see them around you in your mind’s eye. Feel awe at the titles you have used to charge them.
